GWR Commences 2013 Exploration Program at Lac La Hache Project

April 8, 2013

LAC LA HACHE, BRITISH COLUMBIA - GWR Resources Inc. (the “Company” or “GWR”) (TSX Venture: GWQ) is pleased to announce commencement of the 2013 Exploration Program at the recently expanded Lac La Hache copper porphyry/skarn project. The Lac La Hache project contains several drilled prospects including a 43-101 compliant Resource at the Spout Magnetite-Copper (gold-silver) Skarn Deposit (see Report by SRK at  http://www.gwrresources.com/s/TechnicalReports.asp) and a non-compliant geological estimate within the gold-rich Aurizon breccia-hosted porphyry copper-gold-silver zones. Please refer to supporting images in Presentation at www.gwrresources.com/s/Presentations.asp.

Planned 2013 Exploration Program

The 2013 Exploration Program is primarily designed to efficiently test several encouraging new gold, copper, molybdenum and multi-element, multiple-site soil geochemical targets within new and historical ground, to define additional mineralization and build upon the existing Resource at Lac La Hache (see Feb 5, 2013 News Release at www.gwrresources.com/s/NewsReleases.asp).

The 2013 Exploration Program has three phases:

  1. now underway - initial ground geophysical component (detailed ground magnetic and induced polarization surveys by Peter E. Walcott and Associates Limited) over the new “Scorpio” Mo-W-Ag Ah-horizon anomaly);
  2. summer - prospecting, geological mapping, test pitting, bedrock and soil sampling, geochemical analyses, compilation of all results and definition of prioritized drill targets;
  3. late summer/fall - drilling to test best targets within new and historical prospects.

The Program includes an initial study to determine viability of near-term extraction of near-surface, high-grade magnetite-copper ores within the Spout Deposit, as a means to fund ongoing exploration.

GWR will discuss latest results, encouraging new targets and exploration plans in a formal technical presentation and at our corporate booth, at the annual Kamloops Exploration Group (KEG) Geological Conference in Kamloops, April 9-10, 2013. We look forward to meeting delegates at this venue. At copy of the booth Poster presentation can be downloaded for viewing at www.gwrresources.com/s/presentations.asp.

GWR Resources

GWR is an active mineral exploration company currently exploring for gold and base metals in British Columbia’s prolific Quesnel Trough. The Lac La Hache copper-gold porphyry/skarn magnetite-copper project hosts multiple zones containing commercial grades of gold, copper, silver and magnetite. The project is located between producing mines at Imperial Metals’ Mt. Polley Copper-Gold Mine and New Gold Inc.’s New Afton Copper-Gold project (Teck-Cominco’s legendary Afton mine), adjacent to Woodjam Consolidated Copper - Gold Fields’ Woodjam Project, and is well-served by rail, road and power infrastructure.
